England manager Gareth Southgate has said he is ready to assist in talks with Jadon Sancho to regain the player’s confidence.
The 21-year-old winger moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United last summer. But the performance of this football player is not as good as many people expected causing criticism.
However, Southgate has summoned Sancho to the England squad for their clash with Andorra and Hungary, although questions have been raised about his recent performance.
Gareth Southgate is ready to assist in talks with Jadon Sancho
“Does his performance in the past few weeks deserve a place in the national team? Uh, maybe not,” said Southgate.
“But I think we feel invested in Jadon over the past few years. We believe that he will be able to reach a high level.
“I would like to take the time to talk to him and help me figure out what is going on at Manchester United and I think he feels the confidence we have in him at this point which is a good message.
“Again, we’re talking about there’s no perfect solution and it’s easy for you to throw other names. Come to me that we don’t draw some players and say ‘You don’t treat him the same way.’
“We try to do our part for the people in things and at the right moment. Send the right message and something depends on the player. And sometimes they respond in the right way. But we feel it is important to keep Jadon with us now.”
